- The platform is designed for mobile money and digital financial services rather than traditional telecom billing.
- UAE applications include monitoring remittances, lending transactions, held payments and accounts affected by expired Emirates IDs.
The technology and managed services provider said Assure Fintech has been developed specifically for mobile money and digital financial services, addressing security and revenue risks that can arise across multiple platforms, partners and transaction flows.
Mobile network operators are increasingly supporting services including digital wallets, payments, international remittances and short-term lending. LATRO said this expansion is creating additional challenges around fraud detection, transaction monitoring, know-your-customer (KYC) controls and regulatory compliance.
Assure Fintech monitors for risks including agent fraud, account takeover, SIM-swap fraud, suspicious transaction patterns and KYC failures. It can also flag discrepancies at individual transaction level, allowing providers to investigate potential issues across their financial operations.
The platform is designed to integrate with existing infrastructure, with configurable controls that can be adapted to a provider’s services and risk profile. In the UAE, LATRO said potential applications include monitoring international remittances and lending transactions, investigating payments placed on hold and taking action when accounts are affected by an expired Emirates ID.
LATRO CEO Donald Reinhart said the growth of MNO-led mobile money services was increasing both transaction volumes and regulatory requirements, meaning security and risk controls could no longer simply be added to traditional telecom revenue assurance platforms.
As an example, LATRO said a mobile money provider with 3.5 million subscribers, 1.7 million daily transactions and more than 1,000 partner integrations deployed controls using Assure Fintech within 24 hours. The platform subsequently identified recurring billing leakage and operational risks that had not been detected through existing review processes.
