Zenitel launches IP speaker kits for customised security applications

Zenitel has launched two IP Speaker Kits designed to allow partners to develop customised networked speaker solutions for specific security and operational environments.
  • Zenitel has launched indoor and outdoor IP Speaker Kits for customised IP speaker designs.
  • Partners can tailor speaker form factors and acoustic configurations while using Zenitel’s IP audio technology.
  • The kits will also provide the technology foundation for Zenitel’s future IP speaker portfolio.

The Indoor IP Speaker Kit (ZIPS-K) and Outdoor IP Speaker Kit (ZIPS-KOE) are intended to give partners greater flexibility over speaker form factors and acoustic requirements, while retaining Zenitel’s IP audio, networking and management capabilities.

The kits provide the technology platform around which partners can combine an appropriate loudspeaker and enclosure for applications where a standard IP speaker may not be suitable. Zenitel says this could allow its technology to be incorporated into more specialised speaker designs while maintaining the communication functions of its IP audio solutions.

The company said the kits will also become the technology foundation for its own IP speaker portfolio, replacing its existing IP module. This will provide a common platform for both Zenitel’s standard products and customised partner solutions.

The development forms part of Zenitel’s wider Unified Critical Communication (UCC) offering, which brings public address and communication capabilities into a common environment. The company says its IP speakers can be integrated with platforms including Zenitel Connect and managed using services such as Zenitel Cloud RMM.

Mikkjell Rommetveit, Senior R&D Project Manager at Zenitel, said the kits were developed in response to demand from partners for solutions adapted to specific environments and applications.

“Rather than limiting to a specific speaker design, the new kits give them the freedom to build any type of speakers while keeping Zenitel technology at the core,” he said.
