Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior has underlined the importance of close coordination between security sectors to ensure swift responses to emergency reports and maintain high levels of public safety.

Deputy Interior Minister Major General Abdulwahab Al-Wuhaib made the remarks during a field inspection tour of several Interior Ministry departments on Saturday, aimed at assessing operational readiness and enhancing overall performance across key units.

Al-Wuhaib praised the professionalism and teamwork demonstrated by personnel handling emergency calls, stressing the ministry’s commitment to continuous improvement.

“We must continue to raise the efficiency of field and operational performance,” he said, noting the high level of discipline observed in managing reports and urgent cases.

The tour began at the Traffic Department, where the deputy minister reviewed traffic control systems and measures used to manage vehicle flow on major roads. He said these efforts play a vital role in ensuring smooth traffic movement and improving road safety.

He later visited the General Operations Department’s emergency call centres and central operations management units, where he observed procedures for receiving and processing reports, coordination with relevant agencies and the readiness of field teams to respond to incidents.

Al-Wuhaib was accompanied by Brigadier Abdullah Al-Otaibi, head of the Traffic and Operations Sector, during the inspection.

In related news, the National Center for Security Operations reported receiving 2,746,207 calls via the unified emergency number 911 in December 2025 across the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh and the Eastern Province.

The calls were distributed as 823,126 in Makkah, 225,808 in Madinah, 1,180,560 in Riyadh and 516,713 in the Eastern Province.

The figures reflect the scale of responsibility handled by unified security operations centres, which receive emergency calls and direct them to the appropriate security and service agencies.

The NCSO operates under the Ministry of Interior and monitors security conditions nationwide, coordinating with security authorities and other government bodies to respond to emergencies as required by the situation.
