- Saudi Arabia has ranked first among G20 countries for personal safety.
- 97.7% of residents say they feel safe walking alone at night.
- The findings underline the Kingdom’s continued investment in security ahead of the Security Middle East Conference in Riyadh.
The ranking is based on country-reported data submitted to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Indicators Database and forms part of Saudi Arabia’s Safety Index. The findings place the Kingdom ahead of every other G20 nation on the internationally recognised measure of perceived personal safety.
GASTAT said the results reflect the continued efforts of government agencies to strengthen public safety, security and quality of life across the Kingdom in support of the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. The authority also highlighted ongoing investment in areas including technological and cybersecurity resilience alongside wider public safety initiatives.
For security professionals, the ranking reinforces Saudi Arabia’s growing reputation as a regional leader in creating safe, resilient urban environments. As the Kingdom continues to invest in smart cities, critical infrastructure and advanced security technologies, the focus remains on combining innovation with effective public protection.
The announcement also comes ahead of the Security Middle East Conference, which will take place in Riyadh on 29 November 2026, bringing together security leaders, technology providers and end users from across the region to discuss the latest strategies and innovations shaping the future of security.
