- Kuwait has appointed two new Assistant Undersecretaries to strengthen leadership within the Ministry of Interior.
- Major General Hamad Al-Munaifi and Major General Fawaz Al-Roumi will oversee Public Security Affairs and Supporting Security Services respectively.
- The appointments form part of wider efforts to enhance operational performance, leadership development and national security readiness.
First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah has issued two ministerial decrees appointing Major General Hamad Al-Munaifi as Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs and Major General Fawaz Al-Roumi as Assistant Undersecretary for Supporting Security Services. The appointments follow recent Amiri decrees, with Al-Roumi also receiving the rank of Major General during an official ceremony attended by senior Ministry of Interior officials.
Congratulating the newly appointed officials, Sheikh Fahad said the appointments reflected the confidence of Kuwait’s political leadership in national talent and demonstrated the ministry’s commitment to recognising capable leaders while reinforcing the country’s security institutions.
He called on personnel across the security establishment to maintain high standards of professionalism, dedication and excellence, stressing that developing future security leaders is essential to addressing evolving national security challenges.
The minister also emphasised the importance of stronger coordination and teamwork across all sectors of the Ministry of Interior to improve institutional performance, increase operational efficiency and support Kuwait’s overall security and stability. Investment in human capital, encouraging innovation and ensuring the ministry keeps pace with emerging security threats remain central to its strategy for enhancing national preparedness and resilience, he said.
The appointments come as Gulf states continue to invest in modernising their security organisations to address an increasingly complex threat landscape, with leadership development and organisational effectiveness becoming key priorities alongside technology and infrastructure investment.
