11 Oct Nedap secures parking areas at Dubai Airport Freezone
A Nedap solution for long-range vehicle identification and safe and convenient access control has been installed by Alpha Plus Security & Alarm Systems at the Dubai Airport Freezone (DAFZA).
The uPASS solution is said to provide convenient vehicle access without forcing tenants to stop their vehicle as every resident uses a UHF Windshield Tag or UHF ISO Card that contains a unique identification number.
The uPASS Reach, based on UHF (Ultra High Frequency) technology, allows consistent reading of up to five meters. Automatic vehicle identification ensures a smooth flow of authorised people only and increases the safety of tenants, suppliers and staff.
Nedap’s uPASS readers are connected to an access control system, which Nedap says makes the process of rolling out identifiers much easier, in addition to the added security. DAFZA says that as a result of the new vehicle access control system, the parking area is now better utilised by both tenants and the free zone authority.
This Nedap solution for long-range vehicle identification was integrated with gate barriers from FAAC and Magnetic, access control from Sensor UK and wireless access points from D-Link.
