Milestone announces new regional director in Dubai

Milestone’s new regional director for the MEA has promised to make sure the company will retain its number one spot at the leading open platform VMS company in the region.

Christian Ringler who takes over the role from Peter Biltsted said that the company is being reshaped to better fit the needs of its partner community and will going forward have more of a local remit and regional focus.

Ringler has a tough act to follow but says he is confident he will be able to build on the excellent reputation and partner programme built up by Biltsted during his time at the regional helm. Biltsted will remain closely connected to the company as an executive consultant.

Ringler joined Milestone as director of sales in 2015 and previously worked for a leading German VMS manufacturer.

He says: “I look forward to collaborating and engaging with our partners and customers to drive Milestone open platform technology and open platform community even further in the MEA region.”

He adds that he expects to see particularly strong growth in the Africa market. The company has recently delivered a scaleable solution for Majid Al Futtain’s multi-site operations across the Middle East and North Africa. Ringler adds that he expects to see the company becoming involved in more high-scale projects such as these.

The company were also showing the latest version of its XProtect VMS product suite at the Intersec exhibition in Dubai which will be available from mid February.

It features a number of enhancements including hardware accelerated video motion detection – an industry first for VMS software, an new two-step verification process for improved cybersecurity and enhanced notifications and an offline maps facility.
