14 Oct Leading companies gather in Dubai to talk about risk
More than 50 leading organisations and solution providers in the region came together for the GCC Governance, Risk and Compliance Forum at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Deira Creek at the end of September.
This cross-sector B2B forum attracted chief risk officers, chief compliance officers, heads of risk and compliance, chief information security officers, heads of internal audit and business continuity management from the leading organisations in the region.
Issues discussed included the role of technology in a successful GRC program, the evolution of cyber security and convergence of operational risk and other regulatory and compliance issues. James Lewry from Control Risks spoke on “Migrant Labour Risk” which detailed the risks associated with the city’s huge migrant workforce. There were various other presentations and discussions that dealt with various areas within GRC. The final presentation from Horst Simon was on the future of risk management.
